Covering an area of around 743,330 square kilometers, Borneo is the third-largest island in the world and offers a multitude of attractions for nature and adventure enthusiasts. The Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak, along with the Indonesian region of Kalimantan and the sovereign state of Brunei, make up Borneo. Popular activities include wildlife spotting (especially orangutans, sun bears, and proboscis monkeys), jungle trekking, and river cruises along the Kinabatangan River. Borneo's tropical climate means it can be humid and rainy year-round, but the drier months from March to October are considered the best times to visit.
