Kaohsiung, located in southern Taiwan, is the island's second-largest city. It boasts a mix of modern architecture, top-rated restaurants, and historical sites. One of the highlights is the Lotus Pond, surrounded by temples, pagodas, and dragon and tiger statues. Digital nomads will also enjoy the Pier-2 Art Center, a converted warehouse area turned into an artistic hub. For nature lovers, the nearby Cijin Island offers beaches and scenic views. Kaohsiung hosts a tropical monsoon climate with hot and humid summers and mild winters. The most popular months to visit are October through December when temperatures are more moderate and typhoons are less frequent. Summer months (June to August) can be quite humid and are considered the low season due to the typhoon risk.
